The Correct Way to Shoot Video on Your Cell Phone                                Bonus Tip Below

When using your mobile phone to shoot video always hold it horizontally.  If you hold it vertically your video will come out narrow and with black bars on each side of the video.

Vertical videos might look okay on a phone screen, but they don’t look good anywhere else. On your laptop, your PC monitor, your HDTV, and even your tablet (when viewing in landscape), they turn out very narrow with black bars on each side. Think vertical letterbox.

This video shows the vertical method:  INCORRECT

This video shows the horizontal method:  CORRECT

Bonus Tip:

If you are considering purchasing the new iPhone 6 and you use the video camera a lot, you might want to consider the iPhone 6 Plus.  It has Optical Image Stabilization.  The iPhone 6 does not.
